Ice Harvesting Day | Richardson Nature Center

Last weekend, Richardson Nature Center in Bloomington, Minnesota put on their annual Ice Harvesting Day with the Three Rivers Park District. When you step out onto the frozen pond, you are taken back in time and shown the history of ice harvesting. They also show you some of the modern tools that are used to keep you safe in the winter while having fun on the ice. The local fire department even did a demonstration of how they rescue someone who has fallen through the ice and what to do if you fall through while you're waiting for the fire department to arrive.

Here's a few photos from our fun at the ice harvesting event!

We love events through the Three Rivers Park district! They really embrace every season and almost always give you a little history lesson!
