Family Weekend in Duluth, Minnesota

After stuffing ourselves silly on Thanksgiving, we took advantage of the long weekend and the warm weather and headed north to the Duluth Area with my family. We stayed in a camper cabin in Jay Cooke State Park. Hani enjoyed that the cabins were each named after a different type of rock found in the area #novanerd! We love camper cabins at this time of year, they are super cozy and affordable. All you have to bring is bedding and food!

The weekend was perfect! We played by the river in Jay Cooke, hiked for a bit, ate dinner in Duluth with Ari's parents and then visited Bentelyville.

Hobby Farm Wedding Photography | Emma and Jacob

Emma and Jacob had their wedding ceremony and reception in July at Emma's family hobby farm in New Prague, Minnesota. This place took my breath away it was so beautiful, the perfect setting for a Minnesota summer wedding, complete with a blue grass jazz band on a cool old fashioned truck! Here are a few of my favorite shots from this amazing wedding day!

If you can believe it, this was a DIY cake made by Emma's aunt!

Not only was their wedding day gorgeous, but Emma and Jacob had to pretty much start from scratch about a month before they would say I do. The shed that was housing most of their decor and supplies for the day went up in flames. Their community really rallied around them and helped them to pull things together! BWCA Moose Sighting!

So... This magic happened yesterday...

We just got home from 3 days in the BWCA. On our last morning, as we were packing up camp to head home, we heard a crazy amount of splashing from the other side of the lake. Ari thought it must be either a really obnoxious paddler, or a moose! So we ran down to the shore to check it out. Through the mist, came these incredibly majestic creatures! A calf and its momma! They were far away, but we could still appreciate how beautiful they are!
